This bar has long given a cross-section of queer and kinky people a safe space to congregate and support each other. The Eagle is a cornerstone of San Francisco’s leather and kink culture. Keep this unique spot alive and donate through the El Rio Staff GoFundMe page. In this day and age, you’d more likely see a leather guitar strap there than leather chaps, as El Rio often hosts live music sets, making it one of the only queer bars around here that does so regularly. Having started as a Brazilian gay leather bar, El Rio has a special reputation for being inclusive of all people. Also, you can purchase gift certificates, and 50% of the proceeds will go directly to the staff. You can support Lookout by donating to its COVID-19 Disaster Relief fund here. Known for its upper-floor deck and scantily-clad parties (JOCK SUNDAYS raised money for LGBT sports organizations), this top-tier spot is a treasure. However, the Lookout really gives patrons something to look at. Support the city’s queer and trans culture by donating to Aunt Charlie’s through this GoFundMe page. But the COVID-19 pandemic is still at large, and this bastion of disco music and local drag shows still needs your help. Luckily, it was saved through community donations. The only remaining queer bar in the Tenderloin almost closed its doors this year. You can also purchase merchandise on the homepage.
